All-American, Southern Cornbread Dressing
Homemade cornbread dressing is a must for Thanksgiving & Christmas dinners. This dish was originally made just for stuffing turkeys, but proved so popular that people began making it in large casserole dishes & baking pans as a side dish. Cooking dressing in a turkey can over extend the baking time needed & really, those darn turkeys just didn’t hold enough dressing! It’s important to prepare it properly, bake it thoroughly & refrigerate it before & after cooking.
There are hundreds, if not thousands of cornbread dressing recipes available & every family has their own favorite. But, if you want the traditional, “All-American Southern Cornbread Dressing”, I suggest you try our ingredients. We combine cornbread & bread crumbs, eggs, onions, celery & butter, along with pecans & fresh apples, & homemade turkey stock.
Check out our video on how our slow-cooked cornbread dressing is made. See all the ingredients in our famous dressing & learn what you might put into yours. I’ll discuss prep work, mixing it & how to store it. Sorry, no proportions in the video…that would mean giving out our recipe!

Homemade cornbread: homemade bread: sautéed onions & fresh celery: cooked sausage: fresh eggs: melted butter: salt & pepper: stock.
